Class III malocclusion is an uncommon
problem in which the bite of the front teeth can be reversed. This can cause
problems in later life because the front teeth can wear in an abnormal way.
In Example A the bite was corrected
in in two phases. The bite of the front teeth was corrected using a removable
appliance - this took about 4 months. Thereafter fixed appliances were used to
improve the alignment of the eye (canine) teeth.
In
Example B the bite of the front teeth and the alignment was
improved using fixed appliances alone.
